| I don't always pay attention to how people are doing after the early games, but it was hard to ignore that Jacob was batting 1000 at that point this week. His genius pick of Miami certainly helped, but the rest of the day wasn't as kind to Jacob, and he ended up tied for 5th on the week. There was also a moment, perhaps it was also after the early games, when Mark had taken back the #1 spot, but by the end of the weekend Tom was back on top. It's a tight race at the moment among the top 3, and also between 4 and 5. There is plenty of time left in the season, though! Ben comes out on top this week with 14 points, including picking 4 of the week's upsets correctly. Thayne was the only other player to score 4 upsets, and that enabled him to be the only upwardly mobile person in the season standings this week. |

| Each correct pick earns you a point. In addition to that, each correct underdog pick earns you a bonus point. Underdogs are indicated by the presence of a number next to the team name on the pick sheet, representing the number of points that they are expected to lose by (point spread). |

The winner at the end of the regular season gets their name engraved on the plaque of the trophy. The previous year's winner is responsible for getting the plaque updated, and the trophy mailed to the new winner in a timely fashion. Mark and Rosa have set the bar very high for turnaround time here.
Note: only family members are eligible for the family trophy. Other invited players are eligible for the "Family and Friends" trophy.
While we do run a pool for the postseason, there is no prize other than the honor of winning. |
