Week 1: Welcome back, everyone. Hope you all enjoyed the spring and summer, but now we are back to everyone's favorite season: Football. There were no Genius picks (tm) this week, so everyone needs to do at least 50 mental pushups a day for the rest of the week.
Jacob, Dusty, Flo and Susan earn high honors for pick pct this week, with 75% or more, and Susan earns the top spot with 81%. Flo managed to earn more bonus points than the rest of the 75%ers, so she ends up tied with Susan for first place. Emma correctly picked all 7 upsets this week, earning sole possession of 3rd place. Ben also earned the maximum possible bonus points by choosing every underdog.
As it is week 1, the season standings mirror the weekly standings pretty faithfully, so I have no further comments. |

Scoring: Each correct pick earns you a point. In addition to that, each correct underdog pick earns you a bonus point. Underdogs are indicated by the presence of a number next to the team name on the pick sheet, representing the number of points that they are expected to lose by (point spread). Deadlines: It is in your interest to make your picks accurately and get them in on time. Late submissions may be allowed at the discretion of the poolmaster; changes in picks, after the submission deadline, are not allowed. |

The winner at the end of the regular season gets their name engraved on the plaque of the trophy. The previous year's winner is responsible for getting the plaque updated, and the trophy mailed to the new winner in a timely fashion. Mark and Rosa have set the bar very high for turnaround time here.
Note: only family members are eligible for the family trophy. Other invited players are eligible for the "Family and Friends" trophy.
While we do run a pool for the postseason, there is no prize other than the honor of winning. |
